I am having a hard time thinking of an original and interesting topic for my final website. I know a lot about cooking, but there are so many cooking websites out there already. I think that would be a little boring.
Then I was thinking about my family's genealogy, but I don't know if that would have a wide enough audience. I guess anyone who is related or is doing family research would be interested, but I don't know.

I love the idea of a websites about food because cooking is so fun. However, don't discount how interesting a genealogy site might be. Once you start researching, you might find a lot of family who would be into it. Plus, if you incorporate information on how you did your research, that could be of great interest to a lot of people who are trying to research their own families.
Cooking is a good idea, especially if you have a whole meal in mind or some really specific recipes. I thought about doing a family tree, too...I'm sure people in your family would appreciate it.
That was one of my alternative topic ideas, but I didn't post it yet. I wasn't going to do a website about my family in particular, but just genealogy and how to trace your family tree.
I spent the whole year before I went to Ireland last June researching my family. My mom's uncle left us a family tree and I actually found gravestones in the cemetery in the town my great grandmother was from that matched the family tree.
If you are interested in genealogy you can do a how to website. I used to work at the New Jersey State Archives and just about all I did all day long was help people with their genealogies. It's so interesting and it is unbelievable the number of sources. Once you finish the how to, one of your sub pages could be your own family genealogy. Just a thought.
What kind of recipes would you include if you made a cooking website? I am always interested in learning unique family recipes.
